Generally, there are many opportunities to get involved in with ELSA. The organisation of the general conference was an unique opportunity to become part of such an event and to learn skills which are normally not taught in school.
Effectively it was made for people who are always looking for new experiences and challenges.
However, the formation of groups was not very spectacular. Students with similar interests grouped together and a structure within the group was set up immediately.
Expectations were high and thus discussions took place where ideas were collected and eventually something great came into being.
There was much to learn for all of us. Specifically, a good atmosphere and lots of communication between the team members are essential to have success. Purposefulness, the will to work together to achieve a mutual aim and a friendly and professional discourse are characteristics which make a team strong. If I look at our team it makes me proud and full of respect for each teammate.
Furthermore, the commitment with the Organisation Committee (OC) Team as well as generally working with ELSA-Heidelberg has helped and will help to understand one thing: Law school is made of more than lectures, seminars and exams. As an active member of ELSA-Heidelberg one will have the chance to develop abilities one will not be able to learn very easily in school. It is in contrast to the life as a law student which is essentially based on individually work.
Finally, it only remains for me to add that the end of a successful ball will lift some burden from the shoulders of each OC-Team member.
Along these lines we are anticipating an enjoyable event and we are looking forward to present our excellent university in what is probably one of the most beautiful cities in Germany.
